The purpose behind this initiative was to prevent federal funds investing in abortion or health plans that invole covering abortion. This topic is prone to a lot of controversy. For example one of the biggest concerns was victims who were raped and got inpreganated. As a result the prohibitons do not apply "if the pregnacy is a result of an act of rape or incest".
1. Should people recieve federal funds if they were a victim of rape/incest?
2. If the victim knew that the assultant could have potenialy commited the act prior to them meeting should the victim still recieve mercy and money from federal taxpayers?
3. (If you did not get raped) Should taxpayers have to spend a extra dime for your actions?
